PROFESSIONAL MENTORING

Finding Your Place In Women's Health Occupational Therapy

Women’s health is a rapidly growing area of practice, bringing exciting opportunities for occupational therapists and other professionals who are passionate about supporting women and mothers.

It is also a field that can feel overwhelming.

As occupational therapists, we know that people cannot be understood by looking at the body or mind alone. Health is shaped by our everyday occupations, environments, relationships, identities and life experiences. Women’s health asks us to bring all of these perspectives together while also considering pelvic health, menstrual cycles, matrescence, rites of passage and the profound transitions that occur throughout a woman’s life.

When we begin working in this space, it is natural to wonder where we fit. You may question what you have to offer, how your existing skills translate into women’s health, or how to integrate emerging knowledge while remaining grounded in your own professional identity.

This is where I love to mentor.

Drawing on more than two decades of occupational therapy practice and extensive additional training in women’s health, pelvic health, mental health and embodied approaches, I help practitioners deepen their clinical reasoning, grow their confidence and discover their own authentic way of working.

My mentoring is not about teaching you to practise like me. It is about helping you become more deeply yourself as a clinician – integrating new knowledge in a way that reflects your values, your strengths and the unique contribution you want to make to women’s health.

While my mentoring is grounded in occupational therapy, I also welcome other health professionals working with women and mothers who are interested in developing a more integrated, whole-person approach to their practice.

Professional mentoring may include:

  • strengthening occupational therapy reasoning within women’s health
  • integrating pelvic health, mental health and embodied approaches into practice
  • understanding matrescence, menstrual cycle awareness and rites of passage through a whole-person lens
  • developing confidence with body-based approaches and therapeutic use of self
  • navigating Mental Health Endorsement and integrating psychological approaches into practice
  • exploring how your own experiences and values influence your work
  • creating sustainable ways of working that honour your own rhythms and wellbeing
  • building a women’s health practice that feels authentic, evidence-informed and deeply meaningful.

Ways To Work Together

Individual mentoring

Individual mentoring provides personalised support tailored to your goals, questions and stage of practice.

Sessions are available as one-off consultations or ongoing mentoring packages, which may include email follow-up, voice message support and additional learning resources.

One of my favourite offerings is a three month container of support to guide you through a particular learning goal or challenge in your practice.

Please book a free connection call below to get further information about these packages and options, including clinical supervision if you are located in Australia.

Group mentoring

I also offer small-group mentoring programs for practitioners who enjoy learning alongside others.

These groups combine clinical reasoning, reflective discussion, practical application and professional connection. Together, we explore the complexities of women’s health while supporting one another to grow in confidence and develop an authentic style of practice.

Current and upcoming programs include opportunities to deepen your understanding of occupational therapy models, women’s health and embodied approaches within a supportive community of like-minded practitioners.

If you’re looking for a place to reconnect with the foundations of occupational therapy while growing your confidence in women’s health practice, I’d love to welcome you into one of these groups.

Book a free connection call, send me an email or check my social media to see what group mentoring programs are currently available.
